On Thursday 3 October, the annual meeting of the Royal Dutch Gas Association (KVGN) was held in the Groninger Museum. This was followed by a congress based on the theme ‘A bright past and a challenging future of natural gas’. The congress was held on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the existence of the KVGN and the 50th anniversary of the existence of Gasunie and was organised by Gasunie, the KVGN and GasTerra. Speakers at the congress were Peter Voser (Shell), Andrew Swiger (Exxon Mobil) and Dutch Minister for Economic Affairs, Mr Kamp. Congress moderator was Charles Groenhuijsen and around 220 guests attended. At the end of the congress, Minister Kamp was presented with a magazine entitled 'Tweede leven van gas' (‘A second chance for gas’) about the potential for natural gas now and in the future.
