The project ‘GasTerra for Groningen’, which was launched in 2015, aims to make the Groningen economy structurally more robust. We are also remaining alert to the image of gas and GasTerra's role in the province of Groningen. We are doing so by supporting De Uitdaging ('the Challenge'), both by providing funds and by sharing knowledge and resources, by being an ambassador for the Stichting Speelgoedbank Amalia (Amalia Toybank Foundation) in Hoogezand and via the Foundation 'GasTerra Meer met Minder Fonds' ('GasTerra More with Less Fund') established in 2017.
The aim of this fund is to encourage energy savings in social organisations of which GasTerra employees are members. This is done by providing an interest-free loan (not a gift) that is "earned back" by savings on the energy bill. The money that comes back can then be used for new investments in energy-saving resources. The first project was introduced in 2017 at the golf club in Gasselte.
